In my last post I wrote that the best way I have found to generate good amounts of traffic to your blog, especially in the early days, is to write quality articles and submit them to article directories. I gave you the formula to write these quality articles and get noticed, but the next problem is the actual submission of these articles to article directories.
Well, its not that this process is hard to do as all article directories now have a web interface that allows you to enter in your article information, keywords, authors bio and resource box with relative ease. The issue is the time it takes to do this especially if you are submitting a few or many articles.
Right now there exists a huge number of good article directories out there with some very highly ranked ones including Ezine Articles which has an Alexa ranking of about 555 the last time I checked. The list of article directories that I submit to regularly has about 120 directories! If you’ve tried to submit an article manually to all of these directories you know just how time consuming this process is.
To submit a few articles to all of these directories would take you probably a full day. Do you really have time to do this? Well, one solution would obviously be to outsource this process. You can visit sites like eLance.com or Craigslist.com and pay someone to submit your articles but this can eventually become very expensive especially if you plan to submit a number of articles for a number of different blogs - which you should be doing. Also you can’t be sure that the person you outsource to is doing it correctly as many article directories have some little quirks and if you don’t do it correctly they may post your article without your resource box or a link back to your site which makes the process of submitting the article worthless.
Another way, and this is the way that I have personally chosen, is to purchase an article submission software tool. There are a few to choose from. The one I choose to use is called Article Announcer.

You also obviously enter your actual article. Then you can go and select the directories you want to upload to and click submit. The software then fills all the required fields in the Article Directory’s Article Submit web page. You may need to do a bit of tweaking for some directories as they use different fields but in general, the software will fill the majority of the fields for you.
It takes me about 2 minutes to upload my article into a directory. If I did it manually, it could take me up to 20 minutes, even if I cut & pasted it from a word file. That’s a big time saver! How much is your time worth?
